Will ibuprofen (Advil) prevent the COVID vaccine from working?

No. Taking pain relievers after the vaccine won’t prevent the vaccine from working. According to the CDC, it is safe to take over the counter pain relievers such as ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin) or acetaminophen (Tylenol) after getting a COVID vaccine--so long as you have no other reasons why it wouldn’t be safe for you. However, it is not recommended that you take over the counter pain relievers to prevent side effects.

So keep yourself and your family safe from COVID and get vaccinated!
