How many people have COVID-19?

The better question is actually “How many cases have been reported?”.

Because of limited testing in the U.S., experts agree the real number of COVID-19 cases is much higher than the reported number of cases.

As of this morning (March 15th) 2,952 cases have been reported in the US. This includes 40 deaths in Washington State, 5 deaths in California, 3 deaths in Florida, 2 deaths in New York, and 1 death in each of the following states: Colorado, Georgia, Kansas, Louisiana, New Jersey, South Dakota, Virginia.

You can track the global data using this interactive map from Johns Hopkins University: https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/map.html . There have been 156,400 COVID-19 cases reported globally.
